In 2009 as estimated by the VA, 107,000 former service men and women were homeless on a given night. Though 96 percent of homeless Veterans are male, the number of female Afghanistan and Iraq Veterans experiencing homelessness is increasing as is the number of homeless Veterans who have dependent children. Veterans have been known to have high rates of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, sexual trauma, and traumatic brain injury, which can lead to higher risk for homelessness. 

Is a grass roots non-profit organization dedicated to restoring communities through programs and resources that help make men, women and children healed and whole. We believe this is the foundation to strong and vibrant communities.

The Imperial Avenue Vitality Project (Cleveland, Ohio) is a grass-roots model of community and economic sustainability that facilitates the holistic empowerment of women and families living in neighborhoods devastated by generational poverty and a culture of violence.   This first U.S. demonstration pilot is intended to be replicated domestically and internationally, in partnership with key corporate, service, and foundation partners.
